Since my doctor and pain management specialist are treating me like a junkie, I've been looking into alternatives to vicodin for my herniated C5-C6. My primary care prescribed me Lyrica which really works well for my pain, but it appears to have given me sexual side effects. I can't cum at time and if I do, it takes me a LONG time (the other night it took me over two hours). My girlfriend thought at first that it was her and she was pretty upset. It also wasn't very comfortable for her physically. She's very sensitive to artificial lubricants, so when we use spit, she's pretty torn up the next day. I stopped taking it three days ago and BAM, I'm back to my former glory. I can control myself like I had previously and come when I want to. Unfortunately, my neck pain is back. I'm not sure which is worse.

I did some research and it appears this is a common side effect. I'm wondering if anybody knows of any vitamins or suppliments I can take to increase sensitivity. It has no effect on by ability to achieve or maintain an erection. It just makes it very difficult for me to come.

    Thanks in advance.

It (and gabapentin) cause this in me.

As far as lubricants that are not irritating, try coconut oil. It's solid at room temperature but melts slightly above.

No other advice to give really, it goes away with tolerance though.

I am prescribed Lyrica, and quite the high dose as well (200mgs once a day). I have the same thing happen to me. Since I have been prescribed it, I have only came while having sex with my girlfriend maybe 2-3 times in 2 MONTHS! It's REALLY annoying, but my psych doesn't wanna script me benzos due to my drug history and it helps my anxiety more than a lot of the stuff she is willing to prescribe. What to do, what to do..

I, like you, am also in a bind, my friend =[

That sucks. It's hard when you find something that works for your pain, have a dr that treats you like a junkie and have side effects like this. I have no advice other than find a different pain mgt dr. They aren't all like this. The first pain mgt dr I saw was a complete asshole then I found the one I am with now, she is amazing. It is not wrong to find a dr you get along with. I do know that lyrica did not mix will with the benzos I was taking for panic disorder. Also a good pain mgt dr won't put you on vicodin for a long period of time because of the APAP. I wish you the best of luck.

On the upside sometimes taking a long time to come can be impressive to the ladies. I don't know if you're single or not, but when I was single I had the most fun with the guys that could go all night long. I know it doesn't help your problem, just trying to make you feel better about it. Good luck!

I find any GABAergic drugs cause this.. ranging from Benzos to GHB, and pregabalin/gapapentin.

In my experience there's nothing that will fix it. And if you're still getting normal erections, there's not much medicine can do to correct the issue. I've also had some sexual problems on Lyrica, although not as bad. The positive effects of it are WAY more important to me right now than sex, so I'm not focusing on it much. I'm normally horny all the time and extremely orgasmic, and I've had a couple occasions recently where I couldn't get off at all, even when my boyfriend did everything humanly possible to try to make it happen. I feel ya dude, for sure...

have you spoken to your doctor to try any other pain meds? sometimes you have to try a few different ones before you can find a medication which has the least side effects while still controlling your pain. perhaps other medications wont be as effective to the pain, but perhaps its worth it.

Thank god this isn't a problem for me. I take Lyrica in addition to other anti-seizure medication for epilepsy. I've been taking Neurontin or Lyrica since I was in 9th grade, first for RLS and now for epilepsy AND RLS.

That really sucks though. I wish I could offer some advice but I can't =/ Maybe talk to your primary next time you see him? I'm sure you're already plannning on doing this though...

Gabapentin to me is an aphrodisiac whereas Lyrica is a libido and performance killer.
