I really dont like coming up? Help?
    #1
So i duno what it is but whenever i come up, its really intense and i cant speak or think i just kinda stand there with my eyes closed trying not to die. I think its been like 10 mins but all my mates say its more like 45/60. Once im up and over its fine. There has literally been times where im stood in a rave thinking to myself i really wish i hadn't done this why do i do it haha.

Does anyone else get this? Or is there a way to smooth the come up. Normally take between 100/130mg first dose. Thanks.

Do you think it is based in anxiety?

I usually really enjoy my come ups. I get all giggly, especially on LSD.

Thats exactly the come up I have. It's been that way since I first took the stuff 9 years ago. It's just part of the experience. I know the exact thought process you're going through, its the whole "oh fuck i'm going to die why did i take this what am i doing here get me outttttt". And then poof, all that fades away to the heavenly feeling that is rolling. I think it has something to do with a rush of serotonin triggering some highly emotional fight or flight response. I only get this with MDMA and no other drug I've ever taken. A comeup from a psychedelic like LSD can be difficult, but not in the same way that MDMA blasts me with this sheer intensity. Almost makes me feel like I'm going to pass out.

On the bright side, I notice people who have the crazy comeup are generally more sensitive to the stuff and it takes less to get you where you want to be. It's not uncommon, seems to be like a good 1/4 people get this just from what I've read/experienced. Pretty much only males as well, I have my own theory on why but thats for another thread lol.

I've tried staggering the doses, but I find its just better to get it over with. It might seem like a long time, but the intense come up is usually no more than 20 minutes long, if that.

Two approaches to dealing with this comeup:

Personally, I like to just excuse myself from the social situation, get myself out of any crowd i might be in, and take a walk by myself or with another person and just breathe really deeply. Maybe grab some water, sit down for a moment and just collect myself.

Or... My friend's strategy is just dance it off and focus on the music as much as possible and before you know it the comeup is over. I tried this, but just get too hot during the comeup and my mind fills with paranoia about dehydration/overheating and I just have to get myself out of there.

Another thing that helps is always making sure you have tested and confirmed clean MDMA. This certainly helps in the "oh shit i'm going to die" stage since you can reassure yourself what you took was just good MDMA, a relatively very safe drug, and everything is going to be ok. The peace of mind is worth a lot here.

OMFG mate, thats the PERFECT description. Ive tried having a smaller dose twice but then that second dose whacks me so its just a waste of time! I try to just dance it off, when im flying im not arsed what i look like but on that intense panic i think everyone is looking at me etc n im basically trying to not loose my fucking head. If its a a strong tablet i take i sometimes even start grunting when im breathing like fuck me this is heavy. Its funny coz all my mates know it happens so they just look after me and dont chocka my head. Im hitting a rave tonight n dreading it already hahahahaa!

I had some MDMA that did this to me before. It was just the way the batch hit and the come ups were incredibly intense (too intense) and I can usually handle a hell of a lot more than most people. Maybe try some different MDMA?

In comparison to the stuff I have now that?s pure, it was a terrible experience. Really good MDMA ahould give a slow, peaceful/blissful comeup IME

I've rolled I think ~45 times, which is probably not a lot compared to some people, but I've had the crazy come up every single time. It differs slightly, but its always based in the same anxious/paranoid/panicked feeling that builds up until "the storm breaks". I don't think it has anything to do with the quality of MDMA, and if anything better MDMA does this more since its blasting you with that much more serotonin.

With psychedelics, unless the circumstances are fucked, I can totally just power through mentally. This is not the case with MDMA.

I don't "have anxiety" either, its just anxiety caused by the come up. I think its sort of like an uncomfortable transition for your normal mind giving a fuck, and then this overwhelming unstoppable force that wants you to not give a fuck, and your natural inhibitions fight that. My friend who gets this as well usually goes to find a grassy spot and just lays down on his back and closes his eyes til it passes lol. This isn't much use at the club though.

It's cuz there's a massive Cortisol dump when you take MDMA that is then "overwhelmed" by the feel good neurotransmitters.

In laboratory settings the increase is 100-200% but in a dance/club type setting it's 800%! So it'd seem this anxiety/stress inducing hormone is much worse in a club/dance setting.

I've noticed myself on the comeup I'll often need to find a quiet place to sit in the venue/festival for 10-15min to gather myself. For the most part though I'm not effected as much as others it seems..

You could try splitting up your dose into 2 seperate doses, taken about 10-15 minutes apart. This will of course decrease the intensity of the effects a little bit but it also makes for a more gradual comeup, which can help a lot if you are prone to anxiety on the comeup

What can also help is to drink a little bit of alcohol beforehand, just enough to feel the first effects. But stop drinking about 30 minutes before you drop. The alcohol will relax you a bit and make the comeup easier but by the time you are fully up the alcohol will have wore off and it will not influence your roll. Don't get drunk though, just a bit. It can also be harder on your stomach so take that into account as well

This is something I've never understood myself. I've always fuckin loved the come up. However, I've known many people that see it as a 'means to an end'. They would suffer anxiety and throwing up, but once they hit 'the zone', they were fine. IMO, the problem with much of the MDMA available today is that it's all about the come up - you never really reach that zone. That's fine for people like me who like getting thrown around, but not so much for others...
