Lightbulb The End of The Road

at the end of a road
when the sun's beat down on me for the last time
and my sweat runs into my eyes
we feel the wind emanating from the mountains
and the rays still beating down from the black sun

    I am dead inside
buried below the dirt of your coffin
release me through death and watch your life unfold and play out infinitely
the gift that never stops giving is the one that's always been in your hands
a cell phone you can never drop
you can never see the glass shatter
you are stuck here watching the sweat run down the glass

in the heat of the black sun
    where I've suffered all along
for the dreams and hopes and wishes of others
did I ever get to live out my own?

    I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I fall in.
I am lost... I am helpless.
    It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I pretend I don't see it.
    I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place.
    But, it isn't my fault.
It still takes me a long time to get out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I see it is there.
    I still fall in. It's a habit.
    My eyes are open.
    I know where I am.
It is my fault. I get out immediately.

    walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
    I walk around it.

    I walk down another street.?

That was phenomenal. The bolded part is my favorite and spoke to me quite loudly. Thank you for sharing this. It's really well written.
