nice work homie, you’re going places
Thank you! I'm a little under qualified for the position as I don't have a lot of experience with ECG reading, but I got plenty of time between now and the middle of June to teach myself. They're confident I'll be able to pick it up quickly, and I'm pretty confident in my abilities as well.
Now I just need the balls to email my boss lady to ask about coloring my hair lol. The hospital and health care network that run it are fine with unnatural colors, but in their rules they say it's ultimately up to the department boss

ECG interpretation can be very subjective as to who is doing the interpretation.. There are basic principles to follow which are pretty easy, the more complex stuff you can attempt, but mostly its done on a machine, we use Lifepak-15 which isn't often wrong..
If people looked after themselves they wouldn't present with cardiac arrhythmias in the first place...

Yeah I looked at some of the basics like seeing what LVH looks like and some of the abnormalities in QRS complex. I wanna get to the point I can look at it and see the simple things immediately without having to sit there and think, "hmmmm let's see here"

it's 2021 im sure the hair will be fine lol

and yeah they know you're still learning, that's what this sort of position is all about. you dont have to be a pro at reading them yet, you'll get there

how's other med school stuff going? MCAT lurking soon?

MCAT will be taken early spring 2022. I started studying a bit for it over older material I need to refresh myself on. I'll be studying more this fall while taking 1st semester organic chemistry and physics as a few have told me having a good understanding of the 1st semester stuff is generally sufficient for MCAT knowledge and that the biochem stuff can be self taught. Need to freshen up on the social science portion as it's been a few years since I've taken a psych or soc class lol.

Nice you got plenty of time then. Just try to break things up to not get overwhelmed with the sheer volume of things to study, you got it bruv ❤️

Went to the lake today to hangout with some friends and it felt great being the best looking guy there. Out of 8 people who complimented me, 8 were men.
For those thinking that getting jacked nets women: sorry bro it's dudes who will be vocal about their admiration lmfao.
In other news, this coming Monday will be day 1 of my internship in a cardiac rehab facility. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Got all my shirts tailored, nice retractable lanyard for my ID, I'm as ready as I can be

Congrats bro, men can’t help it - you’re just 2 sexc 😜

how was the first day of the internship?

my race went well on Sunday, I’ll give a full writeup in my thread in the next couple days or so. But long and short of it is that I need to work on mobility/flexibility more if I wanna really excel at this sport

It's going great! I'm basically treating it as a part time job working 6 hrs a day. Its definitely been different taking blood pressure from unhealthy people lol. I'm accustomed to athletic people and when I get readings of like 160/110 I assume I'm wrong lol. But in this population, a normal BP is an anomaly

Just got out of my colonoscopy/endo procedure a while ago. I'll make a post later about possible diet changes and ideas from others going forward. They gave me the Michael Jackson protocol for sleep. Last time I got this procedure they gave me gas, but I was a teenager at the time.

That prep procedure made me shredded as hell tho. Do people use laxatives at all for precontest prep or are they too unpredictable?

Some do. Often times at a very low bodyfat, the irritation caused by laxatives will cause a bit of water retention.

I definitely didn't experience that. However I've never been one to be a water buffalo outside of lower leg edema when I'd consume carbs unregulated on cycle. It definitely brought out some lines in my upper thighs that I didn't have before and I hardly work out now atm.

Final week of my summer cut. According to dexa I went from 17% to 7% in about 16 weeks so I'm pretty pleased. Didn't go crazy with the drugs either and was pretty lax on the weekends diet wise. Will have pics up this weekend to maintain my reputation and credibility as a mod lol

I’d be down for a SIED pic thread haha

I’m ramping up for my 50 miler in Oct. I’m looking at a potential 50k in late September as a B race

I’ve been running in ‘altra superior 5s’. Got them for my bday last week. I chose them because they are minimal in their design (zero drop, flexible, lightweight) and it forces me to work on proper form. I can already feel my calves and feet strengthening (quads too actually)

Little late but this is where I ended at. Blurred face and tattoos for anonymity.
171lbs and roughly same bf% and dryness as last year so roughly 10lb gain in a year. Did dexa scan before and after and went from 17% to 7% (same machine, used for graduate school research so calibration should be good). Spending the next few weeks getting blood work to a good place before off season blast which will be simple high test, probably low deca unless I can get reliable trest e/d.

Hi guys, I am running another study for my PhD looking at the physical and psychological effects of the use of anabolic steroids. I have posted it in the " Drug Studies " sub forum and will be very grateful for any participation and feedback. We are attempting to validate several measures to be used within harm reduction services, so the more feedback and participation the better. There's also a chance to win a £15 Amazon voucher. Thank you in advance for your time.
