My mate died the other day cocaine induced heart attack only 24 he was and there me been doing crack all yesterday and now I've I got some really nice flake sticky but the more I learn about coke and how bad it is on the heart compared to speed you wouldn't believe it is it literally rolling the dice or does your body become conditioned I've already had chemical released during a speed ball od called tropinin which is only released with heart stress

Maybe thats the assurance you need to take your next step. My best friend died just a bit shy of 1 yr ago from an OD, it was . . . vicious beyond words, questionable circumstances ect. , ive half a mind to believe it would hurt as bad no matter the circumstances tho...
You will be in my prayers tonight brother.

Yea everything happens for a reason tho and he was a scumbag karmic cycle and shit get whata coming to ya sometimes our souls choose to be vIctims to repay karmic debts

Cocaine is a dangerous drug but I don’t think it’s anymore dangerous than others.

Lots of people do cocaine for years and never have a heart attack

That said IV cocaine use is very detrimental to the heart as causes a huge amount of stress on the heart muscle

Yea but was told by a paremic that coke fuck with with your sodium levels which fucks with your electrolytes which then causes your hearts signling to be disruptred

sorry for your loss.

yes its terrible for your heart, especially if you IV.

i don't know if your body can become conditioned to something like that. its not like a tolerance. when i started doing speedballs, a few months before going to rehab, i wrecked the blood vessels in my ears so now have permanent very annoying tinnitus. that happened after doing crack daily very heavily for 2 years and regularly for 6 years, so my body hadn't become conditioned in that time.

cocaine does affect the sodum and potassium ion channels in the heart, so can easily disrupt your heatbeat. it also impacts your nerves, i was given massive amounts of b vitamins in rehab to try and repair that damage, dunno if it did anything.

YeaI I got really bad ringingin my ears earlier when I done some coke but wasn't sure it it was from the the ket I was doing aa well but usually that the sign I look for from a good hit of crack

ha yeah everyone does but if it goes deafiningly loud then its, well, deafening. my hearing has never recovered and the ringing never stopped- but at least its a continuous hum. i haven't done a speedball for over 3 years so it seems to be permanent. and if that's the damage to my blood vessels that i can hear, i dread to think what the rest of my cardiovascular system is like.

There is some certain proportion of individuals who are at unusually high risk of death when abusing cocaine. Often times those that drop dead at a young age while abusing cocaine have some sort of undiagnosed congenital heart defect (which are relatively common, something like 1 in 100 individuals has some type of congenital heart defect). If you have a hole in your heart you should not use cocaine. A majority of people who have congenital heart defects are already aware of their condition but there are plenty of undiagnosed cases too.

Has got better with time or ?

I think if you're a logically-minded person, you know that such a question is pretty much unanswerable. The only way to answer this question with any kind of true precision would be to say that we know Cocaine to be a potentially damaging substance to the heart and cardiovascular system in general. If you use it a few times, you're less likely to get damagin effects to your heart and the more frequently you use it, the more likely you are to face these heart problems. Just like with smoking, you might smoke your entire ife and be able to run marathons at age 90. There are too many variables at play. Just know that science and medicine have found Cocaine to be a pretty unhealthy substance for the cardiovascular system and people in their 20's sometimes drop dead from Coke usage. You have to make your own decisions in this regard.

the tinnitus is a bit quieter than it was after like 2 weeks, but hasn't improved noticeably since then.

i just got covid and some of the other heart-related issues i'd had when i was very early in rehab have re emerged- signs of poor circulation and blood pressure being all over the place. no one else i know has had this and i know covid can impact your circulatory system but i'm kinda interpreting that as the damage hadn't completely resolved, just is now mostly sub symptomatic.

That combination of sodium channel blockade (which extends the duration of heartbeats) and adrenergic stimulation (which makes the heart beat faster) causes a larger likeliehood of dangerous arrhythmias than any other stimulants i know.

Combine that with hERG channel blockers (methadone, loperamide, orpheanidrine etc) and the chance of a heart attack increases even further.

Well I habe something simillar but not as bad as you describe

Super cardiotoxic garbage thst drug is, idk how my heart is still going strong after many years of IV.

As it has been said cocaine is highly cardiotoxic. Sudden cardiac death doesn't seem to be very common but it happens more often than some realize, people with heart conditions should definitely avoid cocaine. Long term cocaine use (not necessarily abuse) is also associated with cardiomyopathy, which can sometimes remain asymptomatic for a while.

Combining cocaine with drugs like alcohol, other stimulants, hERG blockers and cigarettes/tobacco increases cardiotoxicity.

I went on a really hardcore binge back in 2018, by the end of week my heart literally hurt. This went on up until mid 19'. Weird my heart prolly is all scarred and shit, I still smoke cigarettes til I die. Don't give a fk tbh. 😝

Coke is more cardiotoxic than meth on its own. If you're drinking on top of it on any regular basis, it's even harsher.

I don't know where that leaves anyone to any percentage level, but that meth metric is true, and says a lot Cocaine can and does fuck people up on a physical level.
