Misc Things you miss about the old school Aussie scene

The pub scene in this country.. 😓 RIP. My ex-husband was from Elizabeth (Lizbeff), Adelaide. Guess who else was? If you didn't know the words to Khe Sanh in the pub you were outcast!!

Things i miss..

1. All the stuff mentioned above ^
2. Bushdoofs (rainbow, earth core ect)
3. Raves in some wicked Victorian venues eg Kryal Castle in Ballarat, Packed out multi arena events at melbourne park, Trance Energy at calder park raceway..
4. Thursday night Elevation, Friday night Bass Station/3D, Saturday morning PHD, Saturday night Bubble...sunday morning still buzzing at home in my kitchen so have a dance

and still going hard at 6am..gotta love good drugs

5. Taking and sharing the love with new batches of awesome pills nearly every week.. rarely got anything other than MDMA+binder
6. Carpark sessions.. A night at bubble nightclub would usually be around 5 hours inside the club and 5 hours in the multiplex carpark doing drug missions and geting up to no good.
7. Getting away with such close calls on 3 or so occasions (all involving police/detective searching and not finding trafficable quantities of usually pills G and shards.
8. Walking around the city rolling absolute balls on mdma.
9. PLUR not aggression.
10. Real trance
11. Gooooood drugs!

You still got the pants 🤯?

What's crazy is that a few months ago I was at a supermarket and a couple (a guy and a girl) were all decked out in that shit, raver pants the whole thing, I was kind of confused (time travelers perhaps 🤔).

***I actually do have a little mental snapshot of the drug scene of Australia oddly enough around 15 years ago. I would buy heroin from some people i met at a methadone clinic in Adelaide, who later introduced me to a guy they were getting it from at an Indian restaurant, who later introduced to me an asian guy.

Would also buy meth in front of the Big W in cumberland park. Have found memories of Australia.

Lots of the pubs had live bands on weekends ...the smell of weed and alcohol in the air.All the bands just starting out trying to make a dollar ,for eg INXS playing at the Statdust Hotel Cabramatta ...just another good band....who would have ever thought they would become iconic

Pity we lost Earthcore though :(

edit: and Maitreya
yeah they were both great doofs - ended up going to x4 maitreyas and x3 ECs. But towards the end both were so shitly organised and the crowds were turning to crap - heaps of people getting stuff stolen, girls being groped, blowouts etc.

I usually go to lots of smaller dark psy parties in VIC/NSW now although went to Esoteric this year and had a blast.

Heading to Modem Festival in Croatia next month - my fav party in the world!!

I plan to do both relgiously in the future though , when life aligns better.

The parties, the music, the drugs, the people... pretty much everything.

I'm not jaded btw :sneaky:

Prime example of all of the above in this:

You can also play "spot the old school Bluelighter"!

I miss not realising i was a drug addict… or maybe it would have been better to realise it 20 years ago and then i would maybe not still be a slave to the pills and powders. Blahhh fuck.

Oh and the prices… shit is insane now.

Shit, lots of tidings. Both good and bad.
More knee nerk feactions.
Cuz to tell you the truth about the newest and its of the boyh

I think at least one of your Ancestors was a transported convict. (Because you live in Meblorne and speak the way you do.)
My grandfather wrote a book after 20 years researching as far back as our ancestors as he could. He traveled all over the world chasing documents/records/people.

I have my direct family tree back to 1520 and this was nothing to do with DNA technology. He got an award from the Australian government for it.

Yes, I do have some British heritage however the first generation of my ancestors arrived in Tasmania.
