First, let me welcome you to Bluelight and our forum - Other Drugs. We hope that we can be of assistance to you, and that you will learn something from us as a member of the BL community. We have many intelligent posters who can be a valuable tool in the quest to become educated about drugs.

We are aware that on many other forums - especially forums discussing drugs and drug use - it is not uncommon for there to be a rule requiring you to use the acronym "SWIM" (someone who isn't me) when posting information that could be considered incriminating. When talking about drugs at all can be considered incriminating, it's not unusual to SWIM used in almost every post.

However, Bluelight does not conform to this "rule." In fact, we frown upon the use of SWIM.

Other forums believe that using SWIM will protect you from any legal ramifications. This is simply not true. If you were taken in for any drug related charges brought upon by your postings on drug forums, the use of SWIM will not protect you. Judges and prosecutors see right through it. Because of this, the regular posters on Bluelight and law enforcement agencies pretty much assume that when someone posts using SWIM, that they are just talking about themselves.

Also, when you use SWIM, chances are, people won't read your post. It makes it very difficult, and often confusing, to read and understand what you are saying. Because of these reasons, we don't allow the use of SWIM. It can and will be handled in a few ways. Either we will close the post, asking you to re-write it without the use of SWIM, ask you to go back and edit out every use of the SWIM, or go in ourselves and change every SWIM into "I." Or, we could just ask you to stop using it in future posts.

So, keep all this in mind next time you are posting here on Bluelight, and hopefully you enjoy our forums and stick around for a while. There are plenty of friendly, welcoming posters throughout the site that would love to welcome you in and get to know you.

THIS IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE

You can discuss it with us if you'd like, but nothing is going to change this SITE WIDE policy. This isn't something the OD Staff made up. The entire site conforms to this idea and won't be changing it any time soon.
 
My friend Swim has a pet turtle named Swimette. If Swim gives Swimette 40mg IM Ketamine, will Swim be able to re-use that syringe for plugging MDMA? 8(

yeah it may save you guys some aggravation...

anyway swim wanted to know if 500mg of pure MDMA was enough to get swim and a few other swimmers high for a night. Swim knows the MDMA is pure because Swim has eaten these pills before and trusts his source.

He will, just make sure he doesn't clean it before re-using it. Cleaning it removes the bacteria, which is a huge part of the the MDMA high.

Don't take pure MDMA. It has fiberglass in it and cuts your penis when you pee it out the next day. It also has ebola and boccelism in it.

(for anyone who might believe this: it's complete sarcasm)

Can we use the acronym APIAN? A Person I Am Not. I think it sounds better than SWIM.

Cops can use what you post on the internet against you if you're saying things like "I'm slinging ______" or "I pick up ________ at ______, New Jersey".

If you're stating facts (or ideas that aren't necessarily true ;)) about the past - there is no evidence (i.e. the drugs have been consumed - there is no evidence to any crime), so this is why so many people in Blue Light can post about what they do.

This site is strongly against selling drugs, sourcing, any of that, because it endangers us all even when someone posts something like a source for the few minutes it's up before being deleted.

No.

Even if it isn't you, just say "I" and "me". It is a lot easier to read.

They won't, but people have, in the past, had their posts used against them for various reasons. We've had it happen to handful of members. It doesn't always stand up in court, but if it does, SWIM won't protect you.

It's why we discourage talking about future activities. Never say "im going to buy THIS MUCH dope in THIS MANY hours." If LE is reading that, it can be used against you.

And don't forget that law enforcement IS reading this forum. It most definitely is monitored.

Let's try to refrain from off-topic posts in this thread. If you don't have anything to see relating to the topic, then that's what the Social Thread is for. I don't want this to get bogged down with unrelated stiff.
 
There's many reasons. Study trends, see what drugs are popular at the time, learn new things related to the culture of drugs. There are a few threads discussing it in Support. There are also a few more threads where LE explains why they read the forums.

It's not always that they too like to get high, but I wouldn't doubt that that is part of the reason.

It is where I come from.

The state I lived in regularly gets 10kg + each year of every major drug (marijuana, cocaine, heroin, meth) - so tell me why one year (2007) for the whole state of VA - they only found 0.2kg of heroin (that's less than what a single hobo could find with a serious habit...in a whole year). Considering the entire police force of VA only found 0.2kg of heroin in 2007 - this says to me - they found more, but a lot of it ventured on up their noses.
 
I said I wouldn't doubt that it's part of the reason. I was agreeing with you; just saying it's not the only reason.
 
It happens all the time. I haven't seen anyone out themselves as LE recently, but there's been instances in the past where it's been admitted.
