Hey everyone, Bluelight needs you!

We're looking for any members who either have the skill OR passion for learning in the following areas to join our new social media team:

- Social Media Management - Someone who can essentially manage a social media page, contribute to it, moderate it, promote it and have community management skills. - Tasks will include creating content based on a broader brand strategy, reporting specific KPIs and having a creative and innovative mind on how to grow that specific platform. Note: If you do not have experience in this field but have a big interest or passion then I would still like to speak to you.

- Graphic Designers - Someone who can create digital graphics. Some creative skills will be needed here as you can't teach that, but I know there are plenty of creative people on Bluelight, and I'd like to speak to you. Tasks will include on brand and guided/briefed social media graphic posts. This role is excellent for anyone interested in graphic design as a potential career or side hustle, as they will be given expert guidance and will be able to build a solid portfolio.

- Content/Copy Writers - In this instance, we are currently only looking for short-form content writers who can take hyper-valuable information from the forum and repurpose it for the correct platform we are posting it on. I honestly don’t think I have the skills enough to do those roles but I appreciate respect and really love what your all trying to do, I would happily help anyone out with my talks needling done so they can concentrate on bugger stuff tho, either way you all deserve so much respect for this

Hey there, former bluelight.ru user from 10-15 (2010?) years ago. Thought I’d pop in and see what’s changed, if anything, and search for a bit of information.

Just wondered if any volunteers might still be sought after. I’d like to do some writing, for what it’s worth, because I truly enjoy doing it and have been told often enough that I am a decent writer. Not the greatest, but not the worst, either.

I was a game repair technician for a video game company, and I handled all their sales and promotions as well as designing their catalogs and logos as well as banners.
Physical or digital.
I also managed and handled their social media accounts, as well as created content for them to engage people.

I am also a harm reduction advocate, as well as a avid researcher for 15 years plus.

Been around this community for wow I really long time.
Back when a certain person first discovered and posted their synthesis to methoxetamine.
Mostly been a long time lurker I have another account: Xethious which I believe I was the most active on.

I would love to be able to contribute to the Blue light community as it's always been a safe place for me to express my feelings, and spread my knowledge as well as harm reduction awareness.

Any content used from the forum will solely be used on Bluelight's social media platforms and will be credited to the author of the post (handle name of course). Thereby giving your post more reach, and links back to the original post, creating more engagement, opinions and activity within the thread you created.

So I just want to try to make clear what it is that we're doing, so nobody gets the wrong idea.

We're just trying to reach out on various social media channels in order to make more people aware that Bluelight exists. Reason being, google doesn't show us anymore in searches for information about drugs. The only way anyone knows anything exists anymore is through social media (businesses, bands, websites, etc). So what we're doing here is writing content specifically for social media channels. We are not sharing posts from the forum with Facebook or any other entity. Posts on the forum will always remain only on the forum. We are not posting Bluelight user content anywhere else. And we never will, except perhaps if someone made a post that they decided they want to feature on our instagram or whatever. We may also link to the forum in social media posts, so that the effort to increase awareness of Bluelight will result in people actually visiting the forum (because otherwise, how would they know where to go?)

Why are we doing this? Bluelight is dying a long, slow death, unless we branch out and let people know we exist through other channels. Traffic is down massively from where it was pre ~2018. Look at our contemporary forums, like drugs-forum. Most of them are already dead. I think the Shroomery is the only similar forum I can think of that is still alive, besides us. And do you know what they did? The same thing I'm talking about. They have social media accounts where they write content and it brings in traffic to their forum.

So to reiterate and make it very clear: We have people writing social media posts specifically for social media, to try to spread awareness of Bluelight. We're not sharing forum posts on social media, all forum content will remain solely on the forum. You don't have to worry that something you say here is going to end up on social media.

Essentially what we're trying to do is establish a "world-facing" presence that has harm-reduction articles and content deemed "suitable" and "not harmful" to google/etc. And that will make people aware of us, and we can link people to the forum. The forum itself will remain unchanged, so the only way people will read stuff posted here is to come visit the forum. And the way the forum operates and runs is not changing.

I don't like that social media is necessary, but try googling something about drugs. Bluelight used to show up in the first page, now it doesn't show up at all unless you also include "bluelight" in the search term (meaning you have to already know we exist). All you get is paid advertisements by "rehab" centers and shit with bogus info. And sometimes reddit.

Remember back in the day when there was way more traffic and new posters? We're just trying to get back there. And this thread is asking for anyone who feels that they might want to offer us help with writing harm reduction articles for social media to consider volunteering for that effort.

I hope this clear some stuff up for anyone who might be worried.

 

I’d expected to get paid for PR work out of Australia (where BL is headquartered), even at an NGO I would expect compensation. I’m throwing my hat in the ring.
