I was living out in the Bay Area of San Francisco: I lived near the Haight/Ashbury district and seeing musicians was a frequent occurrence. I was walking up Haight one day with my then boyfriend and Patton drove by in a convertible...he was on the passenger side of the car and he shouted some fucktard remark. Don't' know exactly who it was aimed at. Also saw Kirk Hammett at Amoeba Records. Robin Williams, jogging through Golden Gate Park. People were just chill about it. Not asking for autographs. Letting them be human and not celebrities.

Is Haight Ashbury still cool or is it drug infested now? My parents went across the US in the 90s and that was one of their fave spots. I want to get over there one day and wondering if it's worth seeing.

LOL@Patton fucktard remark. FNM lyrics are pretty brutal and Patton lies a lot to journalists (probably a good idea). This is funny.. I am completely and utterly blinded by this guy's looks regardless of anything that come out of his mouth though.

Was there also, in the late 90s/early 2000 - plenty of 2nd hand shops; no Charlie Manson copycats, luckily 😉 It's a street, you can't replicate a Zeitgeist with that. Go visit/plan your visit though, just keep expectations realistic. Hopefully you get more contemporary, advice from BLers 😉

My unwarranted advice: People however, are different, there is some hope in them- you can idealize the be disappointed but still, with some, you feel the beat! 😉🐦
