Misc What’s your Nicotine of choice?

I've heard that. Somebody wrote a whole book about how to survive dumpster diving. He actually seemed really healthy
Unlike the hypochondriacs running the world today, he believed in his immune system. And he liked the lifestyle. This was probably his gateway drug experience

It's so stupid. Alcohol is equally insanely highly taxed here, too. But guess what? Apart from cigarette sales declining slightly due to vaping, tobacco sales overall have not change and alcohol sales have even gone UP. So the stupid taxes aren't making people stop drinking or smoking, they're making people who smoke or drink poorer. Or have to go without food or heat.
The cost of the ingredients that go into mass producing one pack of cigarettes, what do you suppose it adds up to? 20 cents? a quarter? Whatever it is it's negligible and probably has gone down due to greater yields and more efficient processing of tobacco.

Taxation is largely theft

The cheapest place to buy cigarettes within the continental United States is usually at Indian Casinos. As Sovereign Nations they don't add federal tax ( they may include state tax due to issues involving crossing state lines) ... for example on a Reservation in Calif I paid under five bucks for a pack of Senecas, a brand made in Canada

I wouldn't want to smoke them everyday, but you know how it is when you're gambling. You've got to be smoking

When I was homeless or basically pre-corona, sometimes the pharmacies in the City Centre would forget to padlock their bins (or a small group of us would get them open anyway) and there was almost always stuff like MSContins, Diazepam, Lorazepam, Fentanyl Patches, Gabapentin, Pregabalin etc.
Was amazing! My (trans) friend even managed to regularly get oestrogen and testosterone blockers in there (until her doctor and the mandatory psych finally agreed to prescribe them to her safely on the NHS).

Yeah a quarter tops, I'd say. I'm all for going packaging-free anyway. It's bad for the environment and not really needed for cigarettes. If they sold decent-quality "holders" or "packets" like just little wooden boxes or leather things similar to wallets, I buy one and just keep my cigarettes in there. I think like 100 years ago people actually had "cigarette tins".

Theyre also, at least on the smoking front as less and less people smoke due to health awareness making up for lost revenue. I think drinking its a little more complicated because its not going down significantly even pre-covid (just checked WHO alcohol reports) and its way up now.. but its still probably true enough. Who knows whats being projected to corporate alcohol and what supply chains are like.

Which I haven't read but I have seen and it's in the movie .. Wow face for if you were being serious
Imagine if Boo Radley was behind the door in something written for 21st century America. It wouldnt be this cute scene. Then they would probably portray him as a smoker, for sure. I know I would have him chainsmoking as he ambled in a psychotic break towards to his unhumbled targets abode..

I mostly use Swedish snus, its the least dangerous form of tobacco.
I also sometimes use amazonian rape aswell as hash joints with rolling tobacco.

Anybody remember Chesterfields? The original ones, not the shit you see today.
They were filterless but as long as filtered 100's and a really rich & potent smoke.
Damn, I miss good cigarettes.
Yeah, I know, that's a ridiculous thing to miss.....and is there such a thing as a "good" cigarette?
Just being honest, though. I miss 'em.
(My father died of lung cancer and his father did, too. My maternal grandfather died of emphysema. All smokers. I get it. I am suicidal.)

Snus - I am Scandinavian after all ;) Usually General Onyx, Siberia (white, very strong snus), LD Salmiak and now even the "All White"-portions, with nicotine and flavouring but no tobacco. For those who doesn't want stained teeth. Some of them tastes great like "XQS Black Cherry". Around 5 portions / day.
What percentage of Salmiak is in that snus tobacco? Is it as strong as Piratos, Salmiak fish, or more mild like the sweet type?

Went from no nicotine to using 6mg tobacco free zyn pouches in past 6 months.

3mg for a long time but now on nicotine salt 28 or 20 on the salts.
