Found a 750ml bottle of Svedka vodka, almost full, in the freezer at my father-in-law's house. It's been sitting there since the time, several years ago, while we were living with him ("thanks!") and I bought it to dissolve buprenorphine in for a "tincture." The gouged prices on nips and half-pints has always irritated me, so I just put down an investment in that fifth of vodka, probably also thinking that some boozing might help distract us during the taper as wll.... Of course we only made it about 10 days on that one and the whole time we were too sick even on bupe to stomach any hard liquor.

So, now that I've reclaimed it, I'm having a vodka screwtonic or tonicdriver: 1 part vodka + 2 parts orange juice + 2 parts tonic water. A very feeble ratio compared to my former career as a lush, when 1 part whiskey + 0 parts anything else was my standard. Never thought I'd be that person whining "Give me something sweet, I don't wanna taste the alcohol!"... see what drugs can do to you?
