Good question, I was trying to describe it myself when showing another dude. It doesn't quite strike me as regular "retro synthwave", though it is retro in sounds, it feels more like a 90s EBM style, mixed with some italo disco. They self describe it on their bandcamp as "Italo Body Music", EBM, Breakbeat, Trance. Whatever it is, the mix of styles sounds awesome. Cool that you like it too, was a surprise to come across last night!
