You have an issue with people who don't want an mRNA experiment shot
@steewith2ees I take it?
No I do not have an issue at all with people who take this view. Why I consider them valid is not something I am going to waste your or anyone else's time discussing. We have been living with the existence SARS-CoV-2 for approx. 20 months now and anyone wishing to debate the issue at this stage is not going to be moved nor move anyone else on the issue. As a qualified nurse who has always believed in science and medicine (they can take my registration but not my qualification) I have no need to add to my general knowledge of virology or genetics.
Being last in the queue to get vaccinated, I did not receive an experimental shot. The Oxford-AstraZeneca product, the only one available by the end of Spring, is a vector vaccine and does not use mRNA at all, acting more like a traditional vaccine (the precise method of engineering has been previously successful in the creation of 2 Ebola vaccines). I had quite substantial side effects following the first dose, something I am familiar with due to my tendency to feel shitty for a couple of days after the annual flu jab and of course they only confirmed that the product has at least a limited effect for a few months at least. After receiving my first dose at 1pm I got home, put a film on and hit the ganj and by tea time I decided to have a dose of clonazepam, feeling totally chilled.
After dozing off not long after the clonazepam I woke up with a start about midnight feeling like shit. I was shivering and jittering and aching all over, but despite a fair amount of flushing I did not of course have a temperature or actual fever, just the other symptoms with the experience being similar to firing a dirty hit (a dose of 'cotton fever'). As intense as the side effects were to begin with, they had significantly subsided by 6am and notwithstanding sore muscles and a sore arm I was completely fine again by early afternoon, almost exactly 24 hours after the shot. My confidence in being at least temporarily protected from serious illness was confirmed by the second shot, which, thanks to my oversensitive immune system having a hissy fit following the fist dose, resulted in no side effects whatsoever, not even a sore arm.
So, with respect to any discussion around SARS-CoV-2 all I can offer are my experiences and actions. Most if not all opinions have been expressed at this point and I am not going to prostitute the personal loss and effects the situation has had on my family and I just to try and win points.
The world is so shit ZB - there must be loads of better things we can talk about. One thing I have to believe we both agree on is that we are sick of (not with) COVID-19. I mean its called that because its now into its 3rd fucking year for God's sake.
