Film What's the last film you saw? v. Why doesn’t Peter Jackson wear shoes?

I don't know if you've ever seen "Jojo Rabbit" but if not check it out. It's better than Inglorious Basterds IMO in the rather limited subgenre of comedies set in Nazi Germany
I disagree, neither my wife nor I really enjoyed Jojo Rabbit. I feel compared to say, What We Do in the Shadows, it was a weak offering from Taika Waititi. I expected more from him. Like it was funny, but not as funny as it should have been.

Indeed a rather limited subgenre. I more enjoyed Inglorious Basterds personally.

I've never checked his other stuff out. Probably should

I heard about "Jojo Rabbit" through Reddit originally lol

I'd say that I don't finish probably a good 80 percent of movies I start nowadays lol. For one, I usually always fall asleep before the end of the movie, and when I go back online and see the thumbnail for it in the "continue watching" section, I just think, nah that movie sucked...and proceed to start another movie that probably won't keep my interest enough to finish.

The caliber of movie I pick often isn't great though, tbh :ROFLMAO:

I feel you. I've watched so, so many movies in the past few years, I'm scraping the barrel. Usually just put something shitty on while passing out drunk on the couch these days.

Barb Wire (1996)

Pamela Anderson stars in some really trashy dystopian flick about the second civil war in 2017. Quite enjoyable to be honest. I would watch it again.

6.5/10

Hell or High-water. (2016)

...really, good show.
Great movie, need more neo-westerns like this in my life!

Shitty movie. Dumb story and posed kind of brining the musicians over to the viewer.
I thought Whiplash was . . . intense. JK Simmons won Best Supporting Actor but I thought he was the star of the show!
Also, the ending isn't really the ending, or at least it feels like that. One of the better aspects of the film that makes it standout.

Really good one.
Made on a shoestring budget too! Great thriller, was recommended Green Room recently, another movie by the same director. It's on The List.

It was okayish, found It on a site about the best sci-fi movies. It plays in space but is not science fiction. As said, just ok.
I saw this movie stoned out of my gourd in IMAX 3D and it was great. Not many movies "need" to be seen in 3D to really appreciate, but this is one of the few. Avatar would be another example.

Really entertaining. Reminds me a bit of the uk tv series misfits.
Felt too cornball to me. Shout out John Boyega tho.

Watched Children of Men again last night. It’s definitely one of the best films of all time.

10/10 you need to see this film before you die!
Great film! I put it off for awhile because it was sold to be as "dark and depressing" but after watching, it wasn't as Schindler's List as I thought. That reverse car chase scene is iconic!

@Cream Gravy? @simstim

if you like vampire movies you should check out near dark.

i’ve not seen it for a while but it sticks in my mind as pretty good.

alasdair
That film is a weird vampire/western hybrid that felt like it came from the Twilight school of vampires. Although Bill Paxton is great in it. The bar scene is cool.

My first exposure to Waititi were Thor and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, two great films. I was like wow, this director is fantastic, give me more. Then I saw Jojo and What We Do and I was like, okay he is human. And he came down a peg or two.

If the multi-quote above is any indication, it's been awhile since I've dropped in. Below are the movies I've seen since my last visit (recommended films are starred). I apologize that the format does not include Release Date and Director as I've done before, but I'm feeling lazy. As always, some of these are repeat viewings.

Just counted up the movies above and that's exactly 100 films I've seen over the past 6 months. That averages out to a little over 4 films a week.

I need to step my game up.

that was the last movie i watched ^

it was pretty good

m3gan was good too

that might've been the last movie i watched....i forget now - but either way - that's the last 2 i saw

Black Death (2010) - 2.5 lesions - mehhh. Just not what I expected. I thought a movie called Black Death that took place during - and centered around - the bubonic plague would have more...plague? The "horror" (I quote that because I wouldn't consider this a horror film by any means) is more from overly religious monks/control with some torture (kinda). I didn't think it was a BAD movie, I just really wanted more body horror/disease type stuff.

My Policeman (2022) - 3 stars - we all know the only reason I watched this. Not usually my kind movie and I definitely got bored but it did get interesting again towards the end. It was okay.

Dude Bro Party Massacre III - 4 stars - fun send-up of 80s slasher movies.
