Discussion Chronic pain sufferers and the ever-changing laws

I'm just throwing this out there because everyone knows we all have been treated inhumanely due to the laws that have been put in place that don't really stop opioid use but more or less hurt the people that actually need opioids that have actual real injuries conditions diseases etc. Has anyone ever thought about getting together like a few of us banding together going against the doj for Distributing information that teaches pharmacist pharmacist tech and doctors and everyone else how to discriminate with their policies?!?!?!? I mean this in a legal way like see if there is some civil rights law we can find that would validate People Like Us that are already suffering like band together and file it like you would any other type of law that prevents racism ableism or discrimination against people like us that need our medication and have to take daily ridicule from medical Physicians!!! Pharmacies doctors nurses Hospital staff whatever whoever stopped us from getting proper care should be held accountable to the law if they're going to help us accountable and make some of the most resort to going buying stuff off the street that can potentially kill us they should be held accountable!!!! Am I crazy on that has this been tried before has it failed can we band together and do this if so please reply to me and I will put my efforts towards finding someone that would be willing to fight for people like us. We deserve better we are real people with real issues we shouldn't be forced to go to the street we shouldn't be forced to suffer.
You are not alone sweetie. They really are getting crazy with it. Obviously pain medications have their place. The fact that they went from overprescribing to all of a sudden completely under prescribing is completely reckless. It’s black and white thinking. At this point there are so many people dying in the streets from all this fake/contaminated whatever you want to call it fentanyl, also legitimate pain patients committing suicide or considering it & the influx of people that have to now try to go on disability because they simply can not have a medication that has helped them to be able to get out of bed & go to work for years is all just …. well I don’t see any good coming from it. A lot or doctors almost seem to be brainwashed about all this or something, I don’t know it’s super weird & also in a world where it’s completely legal to drink yourself to death is nothing short of insane. (I notice a lot of them seem to like to say that pain medications make pain worse now, so I’m sure that’s one of the things that’s really being drilled into them … but again I say & it’s obvious that pain medications have their place). Also the fact that a doctor could give a shit if you completely destroy your inner organs with too many NSAIDS or acetaminophen ect. is crappy. It’s like they really just care about the DEA which shouldn’t be involved in medicine. It’s like well they won’t be held accountable if you end up on dialysis years down the line from taking too many NSAIDS from trying to do anything you can to lesson the pain but maybe the DEA will hassle them from prescribing an opioid so you’re shit outta luck is really shitty. If every person that is in pain that wants to ease it or not be in pain is wrong or an addict then essentially wouldn’t that mean the whole entire world would be considered addicts … who the hell thats in massive amounts of pain would not want to ease it or be out of it. It’s bullshit, & other than some sort of brainwashing it seems very barbaric & cold hearted.
(I also don’t think an addict should suffer with pain either which I’m sure a lot of people don’t agree with) Just seems they are driving people to unsafe medications & driving a huge influx to cartels for business. There’s been just sooo many more overdoses since they started making it near impossible to get pain meds & made pain meds this huge stigma. With anything, yea sure there’s people that will get addicted but wouldn’t it be a better idea for them having a shot at treatment than dead from fentanyl. But sure … alcohol one of the most dangerous drugs is completely legal & accessible… but God forbid a cancer patient or person with chronic pain get prescribed a painkiller. Are these people out of their minds?
Sorry I’m totally ranting, you for sure are not alone. I went through years of physical violence until I literally escaped & had a murder attempt that I barely survived & have many injuries & have to deal with happening to be a ‘victim of the times’ or whatever you call it. I don’t think I would be having this many issues at least getting a descent or small amount of pain medications during the ‘crack epidemic’ in the eighties. The medical community change every certain amount of years & then whatever they were ‘promoting’ are all of a sudden condemning. This is definitely the dark ages of pain medicine.

I hope at some point things get better or less insane

Forgot to tell you guys....it is looking like I have Multiple System Atrophy aka Double Parkinson’s Disease.
My shit is going down my friends.
It is really painful too. Bad.
I feel like it is going to crack my brain with magic pain.
Figures the GD Medical System is worthless now.
The cavemen could have done a better job. Much better.

I have Got to have some more tests...if I make it to more tests.
I will try and let you guys know.
If I had the energy, I would send some of you an e mail, but I don’t- have t- just know I love you. Always.
We think it has been in “Remission” for awhile.
It is back. Full force.
Keep me in your prayers please.
❤️

I just want to be treated like normal though.
This will be about the only message from me regarding this.

Let Us Rock On ....
I don’t believe in death, neither am I afraid of it.
The part that sucks , is shedding this mortal body.
How are you now PO? I've no memory of this thread even though I commented, lol.

If this is a new diagnosis, will that help them with the legal aspect or is there one of these stupid caps on how many pain patients they are allowed to treat?
Of course some doctors will be pain specialists and prescribe a lot more opiates than a pediatrician is going to hand out, it should have nothing to do with law enforcement, unless they just want to confiscate...and sell on...more drugs than now? :ROFLMAO:

My friend said her brother had a deal going with their local police where he'd sell the evidence for them for a cut and immunity for himself. Anyone there accused of drug charges was advised to make delays on the case so it might not be heard until a year later, by which time the police will have almost certainly "lost" the evidence :ROFLMAO:
I’m doing alright my friend.
Thank you for asking.
I don’t have a solid diagnosis yet.
Except for Traumatic Brain Injury and Chronic pain.
They want to torture me with a bunch of tests and it won’t matter.
The doctor’s are prescribing Suboxone for pain management now.
That is what I have been using since my good Old doctor retired.

I have had a few weeks of feeling pretty good.
I’m getting ready to go on a little vacation with my daughter.
The warmer weather has helped ease things up some.
Enough for me to go have a bit of fun!
YAY!

Just going to take things as they come.
Take care.
I send my love to you all.

PO Good on ya for having fun; its gotta be the best medicine; also considering you weathered a change from morphine to suboxone and are feeling better.
"It's not exactly a war I want to win; struggling with doctors. I can say "See how sick I am? Ha Ha! I told you I was felt like I dying; turns out I was right". Now, what do I win?

Im on 40 mgs methadone and I am tapering to thirty as my primary doc thinks I have opiod induced hyperalgesia; in order to improve the pain I must stop the pain medication.

But I am willing to try it I want my suffering to ease, doctor probably wants that too!

I've had burning/tingly in my feet for a couple years now.
I get this due to a spinal disc that has bulged clean into the 5th dimension.
The x-rays look like bone on bone action to me. Have you ever put your back out?
So mine is "sciatica due to compression on the L4/5 exiting nerve root"
My original chronic fatigue as a kid turned out to be chronic pain due to a connective tissue disorder.
Apparently the defective collagen holding my organs together is allowing micro tearing....I am literally coming apart.
None of my problems are curable (they won't fuse my vertebrae until I'm paralysed)
Yet just when I was due to be rotated onto hydromorphone my Oxycodone dose was frozen.
Thank you media for the "opioid epidemic"...it has completely screwed my life.

I cannot imagine any pharmacist here refusing a legitimate prescription unless the product is out of stock.
Sounds like a quick way to lose customers and possibly your pharmacy license.

Oh wow, that sounds incredibly painful!
I'm always hurting my back. Not necessarily throwing it out, but every few months I'll wake up with a messed up back or messed up shoulders or costochondritis.
It's like I have some sort of skeletal muscle issue, but I can't get any doctors to really investigate it. It's always the same old "get more exercise! quit smoking!" BS.

I was told I had mild disc disease in my neck. But what problems that could be causing me or could cause me later on down the line, I have no idea.

This foot tingle..is it always both feet or sometimes one? If you already have arthritic degeneration in your neck without trauma I'd suspect lower back issues too. Changing sides could indicate sciatic pinching.

Years ago, when something was painful, you would go to the doctor, maybe get a prescription after a few tests. Then you would either feel better, or visit the doctor again and get something else. This system worked like a well-oiled machine for many years. The current assumption people have made is that because of the overprescribed, overuse of prescriptions, namely opioids, people escalated from prescription pain medicines to street drugs. The theory is that people with broken legs, toothaches, sprained ankles, or whatever ailment were getting unwarranted, strong pain medicines that were unnecessary and led them down a dark path into addiction (and possibly crime).
The laws have changed so drastically in the last 15 years that it has become very difficult to get pain medicine prescribed even if you need it. The scale has tipped into the opposite direction, too little is being prescribed and taken. These changes have made a devastating impact for two reasons: patients who have been on long-term prescribed pain medicine for chronic illnesses were denied their prescriptions, causing them to look elsewhere for relief, and the new people suffering from chronic illnesses and pain can't obtain a needed prescription and are treated like addicts for wanting them.

As a patient, you have to tiptoe on a thin line between advocating for yourself and appearing to be drug-seeking and denied medication. If you're "flagged" in the system as drug-seeking, you won't get any prescriptions in your town, or county, or state. This delicate tiptoeing is clouded even further for ex-addicts who are chronically ill.

Who should decide what kind of pain deserves prescription medicine? Who should decide how much or for how long? Why are we not allowed to decide for ourselves if pain medicine can be used to manage an illness? A person can buy as much beer or liquor from any store. We are allowed to decide when to stop drinking (an addictive substance), vaping nicotine, but not pain medicine?
Yeah I'm sick of being treated like a criminal. You can just take Kratom and control that yourself which I love.
