Is it possible to separate heroin from a street product that is often mostly fentanyl?

Not really.

These days, generally speaking, only tar heroin has significant quantities of heroin. Yet it too often has fentanyl.

But no, the separation of fentanyl from heroin is not something that is easily achieved.
