Feeling edgy among other things

For the last month maybe 2 months, ive been feeling weird. Im gonna go to a doctor soon if it persists but basically, the mental effects and these are my main concerns:

Edgyness. I feel like im on the come up of psychedelics or stimulants constantly.. almost like.. like my muscles are ready. You know that sort of warm twitchy nervous feeling you get throughout your body when you come up on shit, specifically stimulants? Yeah, like that, without the euphoria or anything good what so ever.

Being quiet and anti-social... i barely have seen my friends in weeks. Im getting texts and calls to come out but ive never got the energy to put out any sort of effort to do so. I barely say a word to anyone i live with, or if i do its only when i want to, not them... my feelings of social interaction come and go quickly. This isnt really laike me at ll, im typically pretty keen to socialize and go out and im hardly the quiet member of any social group.

Cant keep focused on one thing. Its hard for me to watch just 1 episode of southpark letalone a movie or anything else.. my mind is constantly switching what it feels comfortable doing. Its like my brain is constantly tossing and turning, trying to get comfortable, but it never does.

then the physical, which may or may not be related.

Dehydrated.. always needing to drink water, i get headaches if i dont. alot easier than normal water level vs headaches. Im probably drinking excess 2litres a day, thats with little to no excercise.

Sleepy/sleep lots. I sleep 12-14 hrs a day now. I went to bed at 9.30pm the other night and got up at 1.30pm the next day. This isnt so common but i am sleeping alot and when i wake up its never from just 'waking up', its always from someones dogs barking or a door being slammed or the phone ringing. When i do wake.. i still feel tired and struggle to get myself out of bed, although i feel relatively awake when im up.

Bowel movements.. i have had diarrhea on and off for for weeks/months now. Agitated stomach/feelings of discomfort from abdomen daily.

Note: I dont do any drugs besides weed a few times a week. I eat pretty well too, infact better over the last few months than normal. What do you guys think could be causing these problems? Would you think its a psychological thing or that ive got some parasite thats doing all of this?

Thanks for the opinions.

Dude it could be anything, you really will need to speak to your doctor about it. If it's been going on for 2 months, and if it's negatively affecting your social life and your wellbeing, you should see your doc sooner rather than later.

If it's caused by something like a parasite (which sounds very unlikely), it can be easily treated.

If it's psychological (sounds much more likely) it can also be treated.

So if you're uncomfortable or unhappy, why wait to get it sorted out?

Moving to HL.

Good luck mate!

Stabbing gut pains? diarrhea? excessive fluid intake? incapacitating fatigue? emerging anxiety/anti-socialism?

I'm not a betting man, but if I had a million dollars, I would bet it all on the assumption that you have celiac disease (aka gluten intolerance). Please, please, please try eliminating gluten from your diet for one week and let us know how you end up feeling afterwards.

^^ That is an interesting and very plausible take on the symptoms, good job!

moonyham, I'm interested to see what your doc says. The sooner you can visit them the better.

The pressure of society become too much for your subconscious to handle.

All you can do to repair is live in nature under the conditions your body and brain were made for to end this confusion.

advice

Yo i understand what you are going through because it happened to me when i was 19. I had always been social and relatively happy and then one day i started getting anxiety. I had been smoking weed since 16 without a problem. Smoking only makes the condition worse. I ended up hiding from friends and other bizzare behavior not normal to me. I went to see a psych and got on benzos. It eventually went away and im good now but im 24.

True that... damn, i looked up celiac disease and the fact that since this year started or there around my diet has changed a decent bit and i eat alot more bread and heat based cereal thats for sure.

My symptoms seem to match very well with it including my shit being fatty/lighter/real bad smelling so im gonna try taking gluten out of my diet for a week and see what happens. Thanks heaps alfaromeo1979!

edit: God damn... EVERY piece of food in my house has gluten in it. I literally have the option of my last banana, or some bacon. Damn this is gonna be hard.

All things considered, moonyham, you still need to see your doctor about this. Get a proper diagnosis so they can give you the correct advice and treatment plan.

In the meantime, by all means cut out gluten and see if you have a positive effect! But you should still see your doctor at some stage...

Yeah i feel way better since i took gluten out of my diet to be honest. I ate it accidentally 2 times but only a small amount so i dont think it effected me much/at all. Damn, its like im on drugs.. but im not! haha!

Yeah i will go to a doctor eventually, i cant really afford to pay for a doctors visit that i dont need though. Next time i go to my doc cause im sick or hurt or whatever ill bring it up though for sure.

It certainly is a bit depressing though. Food for me is a like... its like sex to me. I loooove a great tasting plate of food. My favourite foods usually include some sort of wheat product though.. pizza, burgers, fried chicken, filled rolls, donuts, sandwiches..

Not that i eat those things regularly, but they are a treat for the end of the weak or a day of BS and it sucks i dont have them anymore.. i seriously miss cheeseburgers so much already.. i use to order 5 at a time from mc'd's and just scoff them down. Ohwell im sort of forced towards 'ethnic' food aka asian/indian/turkish etc which is alright i guess.. healthier most of the time too but its.. its just not a cheese burger!

fatigue and dehydration which gives headaches can also be high blood sugars, one not so definite way to tell is if your piss is literally like water. maybe you should get a diabetes check. also, if it is undiagnosed diabetes then you will likely feel slightly better each morning with it getting progressively worse. also, with anxiety, i completely quit smoking weed about a year ago and it helped a lot in the long run. a lot.

Man I have everything you have including the bowel problems .

I guess my concentration is a little better cos I can focus on things I'm intrested in like a TV show

Yes man go gluten free, don't give up.

Sometimes it takes 1 year for your body to completely heal from gluten and feel better. Even people WITHOUT celiac are having amazing effects from avoiding gluten at all costs.

Also, avoid these chemicals too that are found in food, they can cause anxiety, depression, low energy of bad food too:

MSG - All forms, all free glutamates, google everything about MSG it's hard to find in foods as well
Soy - Many people think it's healthy, but for many like me it makes me feel shitty and in a bad mood
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Aspartame - Definitely neurotoxic can't believe it's in food, sodas ect.

already avoid all those except msg. I love msg, and considering the country with highest MSG intake, also has the highest life expectancy(japan), then if i were to guess id say its not bad for you but infact good.

But then again read up on Japanese studies. The processed MSG is still bad, and besides they aren't eating as much as us.

Also Japanese are eatingh more taurine and stuff with meals to avoid neurotoxic effects from MSG.

The processed food has far too much MSG.
