Stimulants How quickly do dopamine receptors downregulate?

If I use amp or meth once or twice a week for a year keeping dosages between 20mg > 50mg how quickly could I expect to dopamine receptors to downregulate?
Dopamine replenishes quickly but how quickly do receptors go back to normal once downregulated?
Besides lessened stimulant effects how else can I tell that receptors are starting to downregulate or have downregulated?

Great post! Unfortunately there is no definitive answer to this. The old "everyone is different" applies well here. Of course it also depends on substance and while amphetamines are not the worst for downregulation, they arent the best. I highly suggest looking at upregulating in between using days. Supplements like uridine. Also working out and legit deep sleep are number one for upragulation. I use NMDA antagonism (memantin or ketamine) for opioid upregulation and recently read it helps for dopamine as well.
