This doesn't surprise me. It's like old people in the suburbs.. They are fanatical about their lawns being neat. They have mowers, whippersnippers, leaf blowers, and they drive me mental with the noise.

My mother's got that turf stuff which looks like grass. It's green all year (people here *water* their lawn in summer ffs) and doesn't need mowing. Why don't these lawn freaks all just get that?
