Stimulants Wellbutrin and 4f-MPH combo?

Has anybody combined the 2? I was recently prescribed Wellbutrin at a dose of 150mg XL per day. I have only been on it for a little over a week. I skipped 2 days a couple of days ago so I could use 2fma without it in my system. I suspect that I may not get much sleep tonight and have to be up early for work tomorrow and am considering using 4f-MPH. I would skip my Wellbutrin tomorrow, but I did take it tonight and the day before, so some should still be in my system. I'm just overly cautious with Wellbutrin because seizures scare me after witnessing a couple and having come close to having them myself while in benzo WD.

So I'm wondering. Has anyone ever combine Weelbutrin and 4f-MPH? If so, how did it go?

I tried combining wellbutrin with ethylphenidate once and it seemed like the wellbutrin fucked up my ethylphenidate high.

I wouldn't recommend it. Increased seizure risks too.

Yeah, bupropion doesn't go well with other stimulants, this is my experience as well. It shines together with dextromethorphan, caused a strong but very chilled out stimulation and kicked my ass out of social anxiety like little else ever did. But back to the 4f-MPH, which I understand is quite similar to regular MPH, in theory should they only compete for norepinephrine and leave the dopaminergic component of the MPH intact - I only did bupropion+dextroamphetamine but it wasn't pleasant. Felt like the substances locked down each other, I was just sitting restlessly on the couch and staring holes into the air.

Edit: Remember reading that bupropion somehow messes with glutamate, this might be a reason.

That's what I was afraid of. Wellbutrin with caffeine can make me feel super jitteryy and I'm prone to anxiety as is.

I personally didnt like the Bupropion + DXM combo. They do potentiate each other to a very significant degree, but the bupropion really alters how the DXM feels to me, though it is nice to be able to get recreational effects from DXM with under 100mg.

I'll take at least 2 or 3 days off of Wellbutrin if I decide to take 4f-MPH then

I've had seizures more than once from wellbutrin, nicotine, and caffeine.

That's pretty sketchy. Were you on a high dose of bupropion? Any history of benzo use or seizures before the wellbutrin?

Bupropion is the #1 seizure provoking med on some list and had been withdrawn from market before it got re-approved as XR only and with max dosage of 300mg. It's quite sad that they can't find better chems to approve but it's how it is.

Bupropion seizure liability was WAAAAYYYYYY blown out of proportion …..but the damage was done and has tainted the drug ever since. There are hundreds of drugs that have a much greater risk of seizures

450mg is the max dose for Bupropion

I have the small 150mg XR Wellbutrin tablets and the larger 300mg XR tablets ……using a single 150mg XR in the morning should be fine……combine with amphetamines or methylphenidate & analogs alike

It’s a useful drug that has its place…..a Cathinone / beta-ketone amphetamine with Phenylethylamine skeletal structure …..a NDRI with greater effects of NET than the DAT due to first pass metabolism……bypassing the liver can have greater dopaminergic properties, hence why they bang it in prisons or people hard up

A very useful add on antidepressant and anti smoking cessation aid ……but NOT a euphoric drug of abuse

Sorry lol….but leave Bupropion alone lol

……and another FYI, although 4-Fluoromethylphenidate is 3.33X more potent at the DAT than MPH it doesn’t have the same euphoric pleasurable effects as Ritalin does, unfortunately. The only analog comparable is d-threo-Ethylphenidate (good luck finding it).

You’re better off getting a referral from your family doc to a specialist who has experience with adult ADHD and chat with them, stating as a child teachers wanted you on Ritalin but your parents declined, now as an adult it is affecting your life negatively and you’d like to try a very low dose of DrugX to see if you benefit and improved ADHD symptoms

DrugX

Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine) 20mg capsule = 5.9mg d-amphetamine released over 10-14 hours
Doc will raise it to 40/50/60mg Vyvanse over the next few visits

Ritalin 5/10/20mg IR or XR

Dexedrine Spansule 5/10/15mg XR

Adderall XR 5/10/15mg

Specify you want the LOWEST dosage possible to see if your symptoms improve. You don’t want to raise suspicion as a drug seeker considering all these controlled substances have a high abuse liability. Even tell the doc they can call you anytime for a “pill count” to ensure you are taking as prescribed and aren’t abusing or diverting to illicit market

Cheers :)
