We're having Puilsner Urquell shortages here. Today, I went to LCBO HQ in Queens Quay and they had a single 500mL left on the shelf. It's been like this for months now.Had to settle for the Slovak alternative: Zlaty Bazant.. Not to worry.....I'm still alive.
I, predictably, cannot ignore your superb profile pic / avatar as despite my home being an infinitely less cultured city than Toronto in the eyes of most, I am still very proud about its contributions to music. My one (positive) claim to fame is that despite being devoid of any musical talent, my life long obsession with the UK dance music scene left me genuinely Metalheadz adjacent. While I have never met Goldie or interacted with him in any way beyond a dance floor, I was born and lived in the area of the city he emerged from. While this is as uninteresting a statement any (in my case semi) OG Wolverhampton rave loon (Quest /Pandemonium / Amazon attendee) can make, the one member of my childhood peer group to start playing records during second half of the '90's quickly excelled to the point where, by 1996, he had established himself on local radio. Selecting 2 hours of upfront Drum & Bass from 2 - 4pm every Sat. afternoon on the legendary Wolverhampton Underground was just the beginning of his career - by the turn of the Millennium, DJ Skitty was not only producing the most amazing and original intelligent, techy, D&B records but was seeing them released on not only Metalheadz but also the likes of Renegade Hardware among others, all while dominating flyers across London, as well as heading up the odd party back here in W'ton every now and again.
He would give me one of the most exciting and privileged opportunities in 2008 following my first clean up from the habit but I will bore the board (again) about that another time. Meanwhile here is a link to his Discogs page under his real name
Gavin Skitt as well as the same for his moniker
DJ Skitty and finally, one sample of his multiple releases on M'Headz, the beautiful and classic
True Blue.
EDIT: I do hope that is a Metalheadz logo, if not I am sorry for wasting your time and mad as fuck at whoever has misappropriated it.
